No. Valve's own support page answers this in one sentence: “Currently there is no way to check your Trust Factor.” There is no menu, no console command, no API field and no third-party tool that reads the number, because Valve never exposes it. Every page calling itself a Trust Factor checker is reading something else and giving it a familiar name. This post is about what that something else is, and what you can honestly check instead.
What Valve Says, Word for Word
The CS2 Trust Factor FAQ has a question titled “Can I check my Trust Factor?” and the full answer is worth reading, because the second half explains the why: “The goal with Trust Factor is to provide a better matchmaking experience without players having to worry about optimizing anything.” The original 2017 announcement said the same thing more bluntly: “We don't plan to display your Trust Factor.”
Valve also refuses to publish the list of inputs. Their reasoning, again verbatim: “We don't want players to have to worry about any particular action while they're playing Counter-Strike 2 or other games on Steam. Additionally, Trust Factor matchmaking will get continuous updates, and any list of factors would become outdated very quickly.” So the two things a checker would need, the score and the formula, are both deliberately hidden.
The Only Official Signal You Ever Get
There is exactly one place where Valve tells you anything about Trust Factor, and it is relative, not absolute. Players with Prime status see one of two messages before a Competitive match when someone in their lobby has a lower score:
- “Your matchmaking experience may be slightly impacted because Trust Factor of (player) is lower than yours.”
- “Your matchmaking experience will be significantly affected because Trust Factor of (player) is substantially lower than yours.”
Read the wording. “Lower than yours” is a comparison between two hidden numbers. It does not say your friend is red, and not seeing it does not mean you are green. The FAQ adds that the message “will only show to players who have Prime status”, so a non-Prime account never sees even this. We took the warning apart in a separate post, because it is the most misread sentence in the whole topic.
What a “Trust Factor Checker” Actually Reads
Paste a profile link into any of those tools and watch what comes back: account age, Steam level, number of games, hours in CS2, VAC and game bans, whether the profile is public, how many friends, sometimes a guess about commends. Every one of those fields is public. They come from the same profile page and the same Steam Web API endpoints anyone can call. The tool then adds them up with weights it invented, paints the result green, yellow or red, and borrows Valve's name for the colour. Nothing in that pipeline touches the matchmaker.
That is not a scam by itself. Reading public signals is a reasonable thing to do; we do it too. The problem is the label. A page that says “your Trust Factor is yellow” has measured something real and described it as something it cannot see. Valve itself hinted at what those public fields are worth: the 2017 post lists “the overall amount of time they had spent playing CS:GO, how frequently they were reported for cheating, time spent playing other games on their Steam account” as examples. Reports are private. Time played and library are not. So a checker sees a slice of the picture and none of the part that only Valve holds.
What You Can Check: The Public Profile, Measured Against Banned Accounts
We built our own reader of those public signals and called it what it is: a Steam Profile Checker. It reads 74 fields from a public profile, scores them, and lists what is worth changing. The page says in its footnotes that it is not a Trust Factor reading, and we mean that literally. What makes it different from a colour picker is the material behind the weights: since August 2026 we have been collecting Steam profiles at scale to learn what accounts that end up banned have in common.
Two caveats travel with every number here, and they are printed on the study page too. The pool is not a random sample of Steam: it grew from Steam groups and from the friend lists of banned accounts, so it says nothing about how common bans are among all players. And the measurements are retrospective: they describe how banned accounts look, not which clean account will be banned next. A prediction claim would need a different kind of data, which we are still collecting and will not talk about until it clears its own threshold.
How Sure We Are, Honestly
Here is the test we run on the score before every release. We take a hand-checked set of profiles where we know the ban status, hide the ban flag from the engine, and ask it to score the profile from its public shape alone. Then we look at where banned and clean accounts land.

The banned group in that set is small, 13 accounts, which is exactly why we show you the distribution rather than a single accuracy figure. A one-number claim built on thirteen cases would have a confidence range wide enough to fit both “this works” and “this does not”, and we would rather you see the shape than trust a headline. The set grows every week; when it is large enough for one number to mean something, that number will go on the page with its range next to it.
The Signals That Separate, Measured on Millions
The golden set is where we test the whole score. The individual signals are tested on the big pool, and some of them have a much larger gap than the popular guides suggest. Three examples, all from our own collector:

Who you are friends with is public. Whether it matters to Valve is not something we can see, but whether it correlates with bans in the wild is something we can count, and the count is not subtle. The same goes for the avatar: an image shared by exactly two accounts shows up with a ban 19.12% of the time against 14.71% for a unique image, while the default Steam avatar sits at 4.09%, measured across 2.83 million profiles. And account creation date, the one field that cannot be changed after the fact, is visible only when the profile is public; in our data that rule held to the account.
What We Refuse to Claim
We will not tell you your Trust Factor, because nobody can. We will not tell you that fixing a public signal moves the hidden number, because we cannot observe the hidden number before or after. What we can do is show you which public signals banned accounts share, let you change the ones you control, and re-read the exact field afterwards to confirm the change happened. That last part is what our 15-day program does: you mark a card done, we re-read your profile and verify the field it concerns, on your profile, with a timestamp. It is a smaller promise than the checkers make. It is also one we can keep.
